His Early Life:
His father was a carpenter and farmer
His parents were memeber of a church that split up due to the differences in slavery
When 7, hey moved to Indiana
His younger brother Thomas died in infancy
In 1818 his mom, Nancy Hanks, died due to milk sickness
Milk sickness: a disease pbtained by drinking milk froma cow that has grazed upon poisonous white snakeroot
His father, Thomas Lincoln, remarried a year later to Sarah Bush Johnston Lincoln
She had 3 children
Abraham Lincoln liked to read and like to learn to work in fields instead of actually working in them
This lead to difficulties with his father who was the opposite
1830 Lincoln moved west of Illinois
Then moved to Salem, Illinois and had many jobs
